I am a native of Boone, NC. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1981. I returned to school at Appalachian State University and received a second Bachelor of Science with a concentration in accounting.
I have spent over twenty five years working as a Certified Public Accountant in both industry as a controller for a local wood products manufacturer and in public accounting for both local firms and in the Big Eight. I have practiced as an individual practitioner since 2004.
Areas of expertise include individual and corporate taxation, small business, tax planning and preparation of business plans for startup companies.
I am a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
I am married with two daughters. In my spare time I enjoy biking, fly fishing, hiking, attending college sports and spending time with the family.
